At a recent meeting, the EACS Board of School Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Folks recognized Leo Elementary School for being named a Promising Practices School by the Indiana Department of Education. Leo Elementary School was recognized for their success in the Making it Happen initiative, The Promising Practices!  Making it Happen initiative celebrates and recognizes schools across the state of Indiana for their effective implementation of innovative and/or inclusive educational practices. To help celebrate Indiana’s bi-centennial, the IDOE will recognize 200 promising practices for 200 years of Statehood!

Leo Elementary has a High Performance Teaming (HPT) classroom.  The classroom incorporates creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration with a focus on building relationships.  Students begin the year with a 6-week PBL on team-building, working collaboratively and maneuvering around the technology-enhanced classroom.
